The Sun God Helios has worked his magic! More than 320 days of sun per year prove that Rhodes has truly earn its nickname: the sunny Isle.
Your view from your 'plane's window will nicely set the scene: crystal clear waters, flecked with white caps and windsurfers who seem to be flying - what more of a welcome could you want? The internationally led Planet Windsurfing Center of Dimitris and Martina (Surf Line Rhodos) has enthused the windsurfing world for over 20 years.
Known as one of the best spots on the island, it is based between the Hotel Cosmopolitan and the Sofitel Capsis Hotel, right on the beach in the large bay of Ixia. It is only 3 km from Rhodos Town and 6 km from the airport. The Meltemi blows side- to side-onshore in the mornings with a force of bft 2-4 and in the afternoons freshens up to around bft 6.
The wind is also nice and clean without any hindrances or eddies. The perfect position and the constant wind mean that this Center offers the best conditions for entry level surfers, intermediates and even experts!

In the morning the water reflects the prevailing wind and is quite flat. In the afternoon, small waves occur close to the beach (to about 200 metres out) giving great ramps for jumping but allowing fast sailing almost right up to the beach it self. Further out, the waves can often reach 2 metres in height which is more than enough for serious action. But this is not just a place for windsurfers: Rhodes is also a paradise for anyone who loves culture, nature or who simply worships the sun. Whether you want to explore in the footsteps of the Ancients or simply to take time out to visit any number of tavernas on the island, then this is a place that charms and beguiles. At night, the age old history blends into a modern present, giving a lively nightlife at any one of varied open air discos, live clubs, beach parties and chill out bars.
